The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) President's International Fellowship Initiative, PIFI, is a funding program designed to establish scientific cooperation and promote research communication around the globe. It is open to all scientific research personnel worldwide. The first round of the CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative for 2024 is calling for applications in the following two categories:
Category A Distinguished Scientists
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Conduct a lecture tour in at least two CAS branches (research institutes or universities) in 1-2 weeks
Upon the completion of your PIFI program, please consider inviting scientists from CAS to conduct research for 1-3 months at the foreign institution you work for (funded by CAS).
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
50,000 yuan per week
WHO CAN APPLY?
Well-established and internationally recognized scientists
Category B Visiting Scientists
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Conduct academic visits or cooperative research at CAS for 2-9 months
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
40,000 yuan per month for foreign professors or those with equivalent qualifications
30,000 yuan per month for foreign associate professors or those with equivalent qualifications
20,000 yuan per month for assistant professors or those with equivalent qualifications
WHO CAN APPLY?
Excellent foreign scholars (at assistant professor level or above) who work in well-known foreign institutions or universities
Those who are evaluated as excellent at the end of the funding period can be recommended by the CAS host institution to apply for not more than two extensions
