Acceptance Meeting for High-tech Model Project on Computer-to-Plate Material

From 1996, the research group started the development on silver halide Computer-to-Plate directed by Professor Chen Ping. Under the financially support by the NSFC(National Natural Science Foundation of China), National 863 Projects and Innovation Project of the CAS, the research group solved many key technical problems. The patents were applied in a joint-venture company named Shantou Silvital Co. which was established by the Institute with Shantou Daily in 2002. Being the first product line with home-owned intellectual property rights in China, it was selected as high-tech model project by NDRC in 2003. Today, the CTP products have been used by many printing factories, such as Beijing Daily, Renmin Daily, Yangcheng Evenning and some foreign factories in Germany, Norway and Italy.
It is convinced that the acceptance of this project will accelerate the spread of high technology in printing field. It is also a milestone for the Institute in the way of technology development and industry transfer.
