Invited by Key Laboratory of Functional Crystals and Laser Technology, TIPC, CAS, Dr. P. D. Bristowe from University of Cambridge visited TIPC and made a lecture entitled Atomistic studies of interfacial failure in optical multilayer coatings on June 24.
In the lecture, Dr. P. D. Bristowe introduced new advance of atomic scale calculations of the mechanical properties of a metal/oxide interface.
Dr. P. D. Bristowe’s research interests include microscopic modelling of defects in materials, particularly interfaces, using both classical and quantum mechanical methodologies. His current efforts focus on ferroelectric materials, functional coatings, fast ion conductors and metal organic framework structures.
