ICCG-16\ICVGE-14 Held in Beijing

ICCG-16\ICVGE-14 was held at Beijng International Convention Center

The Sixteenth International Conference on Crystal Growth in conjunction with the Fourteenth International Conference on Vapor Growth and Epitaxy(ICCG-16\ICVGE-14) was held at Beijng International Convention Center from August 9 to 13.

Sponsored by Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Natural Science Foundation of China and Chinese Ceramic Society, the conference was held for its first time in a developing country.

Attended by more than 1,100 registered representatives, the conference presented over 600 conference and session reports covering 16 related topics, including basic theory of crystal growth, silicon growth, photovoltaic materials and crystal properties and defects.

Having got Frank Reward, Laudise Reward and Schieber Reward, J. De YOREO, M. E. GLISKSMAN and V. V. MALTSEV made academic reports respectively in the closing ceremony in the morning of Aug.13. ICCG President A.A. CHERNOV gave closing remarks, saying that ICCG-17 would be held in University of Warsaw in Poland.

In addition,a small exhibition sponsored by Shanghai Ceramic Society was held during the conference. 46 exhibitors from crystal-related industries participated in the conferenceand 18 of them were foreign units from 8 countries (accounting for 40%).

ICCG is held every three years with a 44-year history and its first conference was held in Boston, America, in 1966.
