Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences ( TIPCCAS ) and Photonics Advanced Research Center of Osaka University ( PARCOU ) signed an agreement to establish China-Japan Joint Laboratory on Advanced Photonics on September 22, 2011.
Vice-director ZHAO Zhensheng on behalf of TIPCCAS and executive director S. Kawata on behalf of PARCOUsigned the agreement. Professor DUAN Xuanming , Professor HU Zhanggui of TIPCCAS and Professor J. Takahara, Professor E. Tamiya of Osaka University were evidenced the signature together. In addition, a ceremony was held to celebrate the establishment of the collaborated laboratory.
Mutual cooperation has been carried out between TIPCCAS and Osaka University and many students have been benefited since 2004. The establishment of China-Japan Joint Laboratory on Advanced Photonics is to facilitate the cooperation between the two parties and help carry out joint research projects on advanced photonics. This is an important milestone for establishing the China-Japan Joint laboratory on advanced photonics, which has been supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
After the ceremony, the dean of Osaka University, Professor T. Hirano, the deputy-president of Osaka University, Professor A. Baba, and the dean of Graduate School of Engineering of Osaka University, Professor T. Kakeshita had a meeting with the group members from TIPCCAS. They introduced the research progress in both of China and Japan and hoped that both sides could benefit from this collaboration and make great progress in research.
The group members from TIPCCAS visited the laboratories of the super-resolution fluorescence microscopy, laser scanning Raman microscopy, near field microscopy and the biophotonics in Advanced Research Center ofOsaka University.
