Underwater smart surfaces that can switch between superoleophobicity and superoleophilicity are fabricated by L. Jiang and co-workers with a combination of mixed brushes containing a thermo-responsive polymer and an underwater oleophilic silane, and nanostructured silicon nanowire arrays (SiNWAs). Temperature-induced underwater adhesion switching between low-adhesive superoleophobicity and highly adhesive superoleophobicity is then achieved on page 3338. Small, 2015 |
