Invited by Key Laboratory of Functional Crystals and Laser Technology，TIPC，Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Alexey Babin from Institute of Applied Physics (IAP), Russian Academy of Sciencevisited our Institute on November 19, 2009 and made a lecture entitled “Large aperture KDP and DKDP crystals production at IAP” for our researchers and students.
In the lecture, Prof. Alexey Babin introduced high-speed profile growing technology for KDP/DKDP crystal, which aroused high interest of the audiences. The audience had lively discussion about the presentation with Prof. Alexey Babin.The lecture drew great interst.
After the lectures, Prof. Alexey Babin had more detailed discussion with members of the research group on interested subjects and visited the Key Laboratory of Functional Crystals and Laser Technology，TIPC，Chinese Academy of Sciences. It
is evident that the visit is of great significance to enhancing the scientific collaboration between the two sides.
About Prof. Alexey Babin: He was born on Sep. 21 1947 in N. Novgorod region. In 1970 he graduated from State University in N. Novgorod and entered to Radio-Physical Institute as a young scientist. In 1977 He entered to IAP. In 1982 he got a p.d. degree. In 2006 he got doctor degree on speciality “laser physics”. Since 2003, he was head of crystal growth division in Institute of Applied Physics(IAP), Russian Academy of Science.
