The International Symposium on NanoPhotonics 2012 (ISONP 2012) was held at Beijing Friendship hotel on February 12-14, 2012.
ISONP 2012 was organized by China-Japan Joint Laboratory on Advanced Photonics. It attracted around 130 attendees from 15 countries and regions.
ISONP 2012 aims to provide a successive opportunity for researchers engaged in nanophotonics from all over the world to exchange their newest developments and ideas in the field of nanophotonics.
Professor DUAN Xuanming, the Chinese director of China-Japan joint Laboratory on Advanced Photonics of Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (TIPC, CAS), took charge to manage the opening ceremony. Professor ZHAO Zhensheng, deputy-director of TIPC, CAS, made welcome address. Professor Satoshi Kawata, the Japanese director of China-Japan joint Laboratory on Advanced Photonics as well as the executive director of Photonics Advanced Research Center of Osaka University (PARC-OU), mentioned the history, purpose and the topics of the symposium.
Consisting of 13 invited speeches and 42 poster presentations, ISONP 2012 covered such topics as nanophotonics, plasmonics, biophotonics, bioimaging and multiphoton lithography.
The symposium provided an excellent platform for communicating the latest progress in nanophotonics, exchanging ideas, sharing information and promoting international collaboration.
