About |
The Cryogenic and Refrigeration Engineering Research Centre (CRERC) focuses on both the development of new technologies in the field of cryogenic engineering and room temperature refrigeration and the related fundamental research, which includes: • Low temperature mixed-gas JT refrigeration technology. • Thermoacoustic engines, cryocoolers and refrigerators. • Room temperature range magnetic refrigeration technology. The research staff includes 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 5 assistant professors and 4 engineers. Moreover, there are about 8 Master candidates, 15 Ph. D. candidates and 8 technicians. At least 6 students graduate from the centre each year. Supported by "the Knowledge Innovation Program of CAS", more than 1.5 million RMB are spent on the instruments and devices each year, which includes the 3D particle image velocimetry, the multi-channel hot-wire anemometry and other advanced equipments. |

Industrialized projects |
Industrialization Achievements Based on a new cycle with the partial condensation and separation separator, efficient mixed-gas refrigerants and new control method, four temperature series freezers of -86℃、-105℃、-132℃ and -153℃ were successfully developed. The key technology of “low-temperature mixed-gas JT refrigeration technology ” was transferred to Meiling Corporation with the price of 21 million RMB. The Zhongke Meiling Cryogenic Science & Technology Corporation was established by both Meiling Corporation and Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry (TIPC) of CAS with registered capital of 60 million RMB. The new type low temperature refrigerator is more efficient, reliable and easy-manufactured than the traditional products. From Aug. 2002 to Sep. 2005, the total sale of the corporation is about 110 million RMB. The total sale of related products is more than 250 million RMB. |
