About |
Introduction Bio-energy and Oil-field Chemistry Research Group is consisted of original ‘Natural Macromolecules Research Group’ and ‘Energy and Environment Research Group’. Biomass is the only renewable resource that can be converted to petroleum. The most remarkable characteristic of biomass is that it contains nearly fifty percent of oxygen in addition to hydrogen and carbon. In the past ten years, based on the characterization of structure and physical and chemical properties for natural macromolecules (petroleum, lignite, airslaked coal, biomass), the whole research group has been worked on the conversion of biomass to high-grade fuel for internal-combustion engine (alkanes, cycloalkanes, aromatic hydrocarbons). Recently, the researchers have made great breakthrough progress on the deoxy-liquefaction technique and have succeeded in the pilot study of a manufacturing facility that could annually synthesize 50 tons of high-quality fuel from biomass. Also, the group published the first research paper(J. Anal. Appl. Pyrolysis 78 (2007) 438–444) with regard to the direct conversion of biomass to high-grade fuel by deoxy-liquefaction at home and aboard. The research works mentioned above have been supported by the National High-tech Development Program (dubbed ‘863’), National Basic Research Program (dubbed ‘973’) and CAS Knowledge Innovation Program. Besides the researches on the follow-up energy, the team also developed the scientific researches on oil-field chemistry and has signed contracts with many oilfields such as Daqing oilfield, Shengli oilfield, Zhongyuan oilfield, Liaohe oilfield, Xinjiang oilfield, Nanyang oilfields, Qinghai oilfield, Jilin oilfield and so on. It was proved that the research achievement and the chemical agents had favorable effects on the oil recovery in the oilfield. The team has published over 30 scientific papers in international journals (SCI,EI) and applied numerous patents. Now the team is made up of 12 research leagues. The major experimental equipments include: Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS), scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM), 4 Gas Chromatograph,1 Liquid Chromatograph, stereo perspective optical microscopy, SBA biosensor, high-speed centrifuge and so on. |
