Ellipsoidal-like MCM-41 nanoparticles with parallel channels along the short axis were prepared by using surfactant mixture of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS) as template. This particulate system shows high drug loading capacity, sustained release profile and efficient assembly of Ag nanoparticles for 4-nitrophenol reduction.
