Dr. Tong Lin from Deakin University Visits TIPCCAS

Update time:2012-04-10

Invited by Key Laboratory of Photochemical Conversion and Optoelectronic Materials, Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences ( TIPC, CAS), Dr. Tong Linfrom Deakin University visited TIPC, CAS on Apr. 9 and gave a presentation entitled Needleless Electrospinning and Nanofiber Nonwoven for Mechanical-to-electrical Energy Conversion.

In the presentation, Dr. Tong Lin introduced his recent works on needleless electrospinning of nanofibers and using electrospun nanofiber nonwovens for harvesting mechanical energy into electrical power.

After the report, the researchers and students took lively discussion with Dr. Tong Lin.

Dr. Tong Lin received his PhD degree in physical chemistry from the Institute of Photographic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1998. After several years of postdoctoral research in China, Australia and USA, he joined Deakin University in 2003 and work as Research Academic/Senior Research Academic, and Associate Professor since 2009. He has been an active researcher in the fields of functional polymers, electrospinning and fibrous materials. He contributed to the development of needleless electrospinning for large-scale production of nanofibers and novel applications of nanofibers in diverse areas. Prof. Lin has published more than 120 peer-reviewed journal articles, 90 other papers and 5 books. He is an excellent chemist who has been awarded a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC, UK).
