Invited by the CAS Key Laboratory of Cryogenics and the TIPC Youth Forum, Prof. John M. Pfotenhauer from University of Wisconsin delivered academic reports entitled "Miniature Joule-Thomson cryocooler", "Pulse Tube Refrigerators" and "The Use of Definite and Indefinite Articles" respectively at TIPC during 2^nd to 8^th June 2018.

Prof. John M. Pfotenhauer is a world-renowned expert in the field of superconducting and cryogenic applications. During the seminar, Prof. John M. Pfotenhauer presented his latest research on the development of miniature Joule-Thomson (J-T) cryocoolers, including the design principles and methods of the heat exchanger, the integral and differential form of Joule-Thomson effect, the thermodynamics principle of the Linde Hampson liquefaction process, the actual gas characteristics of the refrigerants, the operation mode of the J-T refrigerator and its application in practice. John M. Pfotenhauer also gave a detailed introduction to the use of definite articles and indefinite articles in English writing.  

During the visit of the TIPC, Prof. John M. Pfotenhauer also discussed with TIPC faculties and students about the pulsating heat pipe technology and the hybrid J-T refrigeration technology.
