Invited by the CAS Key Laboratory of Bio-inspired Materials and Interfacial Science and the TIPC Youth Forum, Prof. Zakya H. Kafafi from The Lehigh University, USA delivered a seminar entitled “Plasmonic Nanostructured Organic Photovoltaics: Breaking the Efficiency Barrier” and “Publishing in High Impact Scientific Journals” at TIPC on October 26th, 2018.
Professor Zakya is mainly engaged in the research of new organic optoelectronics technologies, condensed matter and photochemistry of new nonlinear molecular clusters. During the seminar, Prof. Zakya introduced the energy conversion efficiency of solar cells and the challenges faced by organic photovoltaic (OPVs) thin film materials, surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) are introduced to improve the performance of OPVs, especially those with silver nanoporous arrays and developed conductive materials based on ultra-thin 1D-2D silver nanogratings, which have better optical and electrical properties than traditional transparent conductive electrodes. In addition, she gave a detailed introduction to the Journal Science Advances and pointed out how to publish academic papers in highly influential journals, giving valuable comments and suggestions. Finally, he enthusiastically discussed with faculties and students of TIPC.
