On November 13th, 2018, the Austrian delegation visited the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry (TIPC) to have an in-depth exchange on the topic of advanced materials with the Chinese researchers and enterprise representatives. 

Deputy director WANG Xuesong delivered a welcome speech at first. He briefly introduced the condition of the institute and wished the conference a complete success. Mr. Alexander POGANY - the Austrian ministry of transport, innovation and technology and Mr. Philipp AGATHONOS – the counselor of the science and technology department of the Austrian embassy in China, delivered speeches respectively. They expressed gratitude for the preparations. The choice of TIPC to host this meeting is based on the distinct features of the institute and the long-lasting ideal cooperation between the two sides. It is hoped that the symposium will further deepen the mutual understanding and achieve cooperation. 

The Chinese representative who has been selected for the China-Austrian cooperation project last year made a report to introduce the experience of the project. Then, the Austrian delegation also made reports one by one. In the afternoon, the Chinese and Austrian researchers had face to face talks and achieved fruitful results. In the end, a reception dinner hosted by the ambassador Friedrich STIFT was held in Austrian embassy in Beijing. 

This is the second time since 2016 that TIPC has organized the forum of sciences and technology between China and Austria. In recent years, TIPC upholds the open and cooperative manner, and keeps in close contact with outstanding teams at home and abroad in various fields, and continuously achieves win-win cooperation results. This is another positive step taken by the institute in response to the nation’s call to "take the initiative to lay out and make actively utilizing of international innovative resources, and strive to build a cooperative and win-win partnership" on the road of scientific and technological innovation.
