Invited by the CAS Key Laboratory of Bio-inspired Materials and Interfacial Science and the TIPC Youth Forum, Prof. CAI Weibo from University of Wisconsin - Madison delivered a seminar entitled “Molecular Imaging, Image-Guided Drug Delivery, and Theranostics” at TIPC on February 25, 2019.
Prof. Weibo Cai mainly focuses on research of molecular Imaging and bionanotechnology. During the seminar, Prof. CAI Weibo introduced a variety of PET imaging reagents designed by his team for target of tumor vascular VEGF/VEGFR, agglutinin and CD105. On the basis of modification of mesoporous silicon and other nanomaterials, high loading rates of radioactive substances such as 61Cu and 89Zr were achieved, which showed high imaging efficiency. Prof. CAI Weibo also introduced the multi-modal imaging technique and used it in PET imaging and photoacoustic imaging. Prof. CAI hopes that these imaging agents can find some disease-related markers and put them into clinical application in the near future. Finally, he enthusiastically discussed with faculties and students of TIPC.
