Invited by the CAS Key Laboratory of Bio-inspired Materials and Interfacial Science, Prof. GENG Jia from Sichuan University delivered a seminar entitled “Functional Biological Nanochannel” at TIPC on April 18, 2019.
Prof. GENG Jia’s current research involves the interdisciplinary research of nanoscale biophysics and bio-interfaces, focuses on new phenomena and mechanism of controllable transport of soft materials at single-molecule level, as well as development of techniques for diagnosis and therapy. During the seminar, Prof. GENG Jia presented his latest research on different functional biological nanochannels. In this report, he introduced his latest results about the properties and potential applications of the viral motor protein and angstrom pores. Prof. GENG Jia also introduced the development of different kinds of nanopores and their applications in biosensing and early disease detection. Prof. GENG hopes that these developed techniques can find some disease-related markers and put them into clinical application in the near future. Finally, he enthusiastically discussed with faculties and students of TIPC.
