Invited by the CAS Key Laboratory of Cryogenics and the TIPC Youth Forum, Dr. Gareth Dyke, editor-in-chief from journal of the History Biology delivered academic reports entitled “How to Write and Publish Your Paper in High Impact Journals” at TIPC on June 5th. 

 During the seminar, Dr. Gareth Dyke emphatically shared the practical techniques, such as how to prepare a manuscript, how to select a target journal, how to express the main structure of the paper, and how to respond to reviewers' comments during the review process. After the lecture, the teachers and students from the TIPC asked Dr. Gareth Dyke about the problems they encountered during the writing and submission of the papers. He also conveyed experience to audience on how to deal with similar problems.  

Dr. Gareth Dyke is a paleontologist who has taught for more than 15 years at the University of Southampton in the UK and the University of Dublin in Ireland. He has published more than 260 academic papers in journals such as Nature, Science, Geology, Evolution, and Annual Reviews of Ecology and Systematics, etc. And the paper has been cited more than 4,000 times. Besides, he has involved in the compilation of three publications and is the editor-in-chief of the SCI journal of Historical Biology.
