Invited by the CAS Key Laboratory of Cryogenics and the TIPC Youth Forum,Prof. Songgang Qiu from West Virginia University delivered academic reports entitled “Stirling-Cycle Based Combined Heat, Cold and Power Generation” at TIPC on July 15th to 16th. 

Prof. Songgang Qiu is a world-renowned expert in the field of Stirling engine. During the seminar, Prof. Songgang Qiu systematically introduced the Stirling engine, including its basic working principle, different structure types and different power ranges, and an efficient system combined with the thermal storage. At the same time, the structure design, machining assembly, commissioning, etc. for the key components in the system were introduced in detail. The detailed introduction gives us a comprehensive understanding of the Stirling engine. 

During the visit of the TIPC, Prof. Songgang Qiu also conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the applications and development prospects of Stirling engines and coolers.
