Invited by the Key Laboratory of Photochemical Conversion and Optoelectronic Materials (CAS) and the TIPC Youth Forum, Prof. Ken Sakai from Kyushu University delivered a presentation entitled “Molecular Catalysis and Photocatalysis for Water Splitting and CO2 Reduction” at TIPC on September 25th, 2019.
Prof. Ken Sakai is a world-renowned expert in the field of artificial photosynthesis and involve in various important catalytic processes together with the development of hybrid materials as artificial photosynthetic nanoreactors for solar fuel generation. During the seminar, Prof. Ken Sakai presented his research on (i) catalytic water or CO2 reduction into sustainable fuels, (ii) water oxidation catalysis in order to uptake protons and electrons required for fuels generation, (iii) artificial light-harvesting systems towards the effective charge separation and/or migration, and discussed with TIPC faculties and students after his presentation.
