Invited by the CAS Key Laboratory of Photochemical Conversion and Optoelectronic Materials and the TIPC Youth Forum, Prof. LIAO Rongzhen from Huazhong University of Science and Technology visited TIPC and delivered a wonderful lecture on mechanistic studies for homogeneous oxygen evolution catalysts on December 2nd.

Prof. LIAO has rich experience in density function theory calculations for homogeneous water oxidation catalysts. During the lecture, he demonstrated the challenges for mechanistic study of water oxidation catalysts, and presented several examples in collaboration with different groups to elucidate the working mechanism of water oxidation catalysts. The lecture given by Prof. LIAO was vivid and informative, which inspired TIPC faculties and students to design more effective homogeneous catalysts for artificial photosynthesis and have more in-depth understandings on the catalytic mechanism.
