Prof. Nenad Filipovic from University of Kragujevac Visited TIPC

Update time:2019-12-31

Invited by the TIPC Youth Forum and the CAS Key Laboratory of Photochemical Conversion and Optoelectronic Materials, Prof. Nenad Filipovic and Dr. Marko Zivanovic from University of Kragujevac delivered academic reports titled with “In Silico Clinical Trials for Cardiovascular Disease” and “Optimization of Parameters for Electrospinning and 3D-Bioprinting Scaffold Production - Blood Vessel Bioengineering” at TIPC on Dec 18th, 2019.

During the report, Prof. Nenad Filipovic talked about how to construct cardiovascular disease models such like vascular plaque through computer simulation, to predict the development of the disease. This method makes it easy to achieve clinical forecasts in the absence of animal experiments, thus plays an important role in modern medical. In the Q&A session, Prof. Nenad Filipovic gave great responses to all the questions.

Prof. Nenad Filipovic achieved his PhD degree in 1999 from University of Kragujevac, majored in computer calculations. He worked as an assistant professor at the University of Kragujevac in 2000, became an associate professor in 2005, and became a full professor in 2010. Since 2018, he has been the youngest rector in the University of Kragujevac. Prof. Nenad Filipovic has great research experience in construction of various medical models such as joint interface model and blood flow model. He also operated many international projects like H2020.
