2024 International Symposium on Superwettability+ (iSS+ 2024) Held in Singapore
Update time:2024-02-07
2024 International Symposium on Superwettability+ (iSS+ 2024) were held on January 23rd to 26th in Singapore.
The symposium was organized by the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (TIPC, CAS), School of Future Technology at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Innovative Centre for Flexible Devices at Nanyang Technological University, and Institute of Green Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Sun Yat-Sen University.
Superwettability has received remarkable progress in recent years and continues to grow in a broad range of fields. As a brand symposium, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd International Symposium on Bioinspired Interfacial Materials with Superwettability held in Beijing (2015), Shanghai (2016) and Guangzhou (2017) representatively. In 2020, the name of symposium has changed to International Symposium on Superwettability+ (iSS+ 2020) and held in Singapore. More than 300 scientists from 11 countries attended iSS+2020 and the symposium has achieved a great successful.
iSS+ 2024 is the first time that the international leading scientists gathered again after the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 240 scientists from 10 countries have attended iSS+ 2024. The symposium consists of four sub-forums, including Superwettable Surface, Interfacial adhesion and Reaction, Flexible Materials and Devices, and Functional Materials for Energy Conversion.
After each report, scientists conducted extensive and in-depth discussions. The symposium has provided a unique discussion and communication platform for scientists in this interdisciplinary field to discuss breakthroughs and challenges in fundamental research on superwettability as well as their application in material manufacturing, catalysis, healthcare, sensors, electronics, energy-harvesting, and so on.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Prof. CHEN Xiaodong from NTU, the chairman of iSS+ 2024 from Singapore. While the closing ceremony was presented by Prof. WANG Shutao from TIPC, CAS, who is chairman from China. This symposium also set up Poster Awards with support from the Royal Society of Chemistry and Wiley.
